A few years ago, Ibiza was the destination of cool. It was a clubbers mecca with super clubs for super rich, including Space, Pacha, Priviledge, Es Paradis and Amnesia whose closing parties have become legendary.
Now the door is only ajar on Ibiza, for the uber cool who know the coup but are not sharing it are hotfooting it along to Deià, a small coastal village in then Serra de Tramuntana, which forms the northern ridge of the Spanish island of Mallorca. Deia has become a millionaires' hideaway. Famously attracting artists, musicians and those in search of a bohemian lifestyle quietly since the 19th century. From Deia you can scramble down to Cala Deia, a small cove, where local artists and those in the know swim naked and party all weekend.
Boutique hotels like Sa Pedrissa have amazing views out to sea and Michelin star dining. And Palma boosts restaurants like ‘Simply Fosh’ an urban cool nonchalantly elegant gourmet hotspot.
